I, too, just installed this set on my 1985 Elite CH250. I knew I had bearing issues with my old clutch, the belt had 17,000 miles on it and was worn, and I needed new rollers. After pricing the individual parts out, factoring in the time to source them all, and the hassle of opening up the clutch, I took the plunge and bought the entire Helixparts set. They look very well made, like OEM, and installed in minutes. (I did open up the new variator and added a bit more moly grease to the rollers). No more grinding noises from the clutch, and a smooth ride. Now I'm good for another 17,000 miles. Thanks, Helixparts!! |

I installed this set on my 1986 Elite 250 (CH250). These parts are absolutely interchangable on the Elite 250. Like someone else said, the clutch pads are quite a bit larger.
Note: The weights supplied in this kit are a little lighter than OEM CH250 variator weights (from 23 to 21 grams). So, I see a 3-4MPH decrease in top end speed, but I believe I do have better acceleration from a dead stop.
Warning: there were some casting marks on the outside of the driven face, where the washer and jam nut tighten down. I used my Dremel to remove these small reminents of material to ensure that the jam nut was properly seated and torqued.
Overall: Nice quality, fast shipping, good price, and it works on the CH250!!! Peace. |

I do have to admit....these guys really helped me out trying to solve my issue with my CN250\'s drivetrain. And when the description tells you to buy the whole thing as a unit to replace all high worn parts of the powertrain, they were right. I just purchased just the front drive pulley, and ended up 6 months later needing the rear clutch driven assy. So I am here to tell you...when replacing anything to do with the drivetrain...pulley, weights, belt...order the whole thing if you have the money...its definatley the way to go. |

I recently bought this complete set up and was very impressed with the quality and price. The Variator, the Clutch and CVT belt were all of exceptional quality and were delivered as promised. The Variator comes with 21 gram weights and the clutch pads were about 30% larger in surface size than my stock clutch. I didn't use this on a moped type product, but on a dune buggy that uses a cloned Honda CN-250 Helix motor and transmission.
My only complaint is the HIGH cost of shipping. The company only had 2 types of delivery and it cost over $26 to ship it to me! But since I didn't have to pay any sales tax and since the set was on sale, it was still a lot cheaper than going through a Honda dealer! |
